july through september was so crazy! something seemed to happen each month that made me feel like i just couldn’t catch a break. in july, my uncle, who had been diagnosed with cancer three months prior, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack; in august, i suffered from a bout of minor depression (nothing crazy but there were a few days where waking up just kind of sucked and i’m not by any means a dark soul); and then the coup de grace in september when i came home to a burglarized apartment! they say that the powers that be will never give you anything that you’re not strong enough to handle and then months like these come and you’re not sure that’s true. but looking back now, almost a month after the end of that third quarter of this not-so-stellar year, and i think that saying is true for me: i never gave up, i never said i was going to end it all and i never took it out on anyone. of course, this is all easier to endure with loving family and friends.

now as i embark on the last part of this year, i cross my fingers and knock on wood that i won’t have anymore traumas to deal with and that pending new year is kinder. until then, i shall impart on thee my musical likings during this rough patch ;)
